Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has gushed over Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic ahead of the two teams’ meeting on Sunday.

The German brought the United States of America international to former club Borussia Dortmund in 2015, and they’ve subsequently both ended up in England.

Klopp is a big fan: “He will be a proper player,” he said at his pre match press conference on Friday, as per ESPN.

“He’s a talent, dynamic, good with both feet. Super exciting player, good signing.”

OPINION

Pulisic seems to have had a quiet start to life at Chelsea, perhaps owing to the fact that his signing was confirmed months ago, even though he’s only just arrived in England. However, he’s already bagged two assists in five games in all competitions for Frank Lampard’s side and, while he’s not quite blown anyone’s hair back, he’s made a respectable start to life in west London. Klopp is obviously a big believer in the American. We know that from him signing Pulisic originally for Dortmund, and it’s made clear in the way he’s spoken about him on Friday. As Klopp says, the 21-year-old is a supremely naturally-gifted player, who can operate in a number of positions and is good with both feet. He is very much an exciting prospect, already proven at the top level but with plenty of time to get even better in the future. Let’s see if Liverpool can repel him on Sunday.
