Piers Morgan shared that he would take Arsenal’s front three of Nicolas Pepe, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette over Liverpool trio Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane any day of the week.

Robbie Savage asked the television personality, who is a known Arsenal fan, whether he’d ditch the Gunners’ current front three for the Reds’ attacking trio after Morgan shared how it was happy days at the Emirates.

“Any day,” replied Morgan on Robbie Savage’s Premier League Breakfast (22:21mins, on BBC Sounds).

Morgan then proceeded to rave about Arsenal attacker Aubameyang in particular and even claimed he was the best striker in the country.

OPINION

Morgan was never going to pick Liverpool’s front-three as he had his Arsenal cap well and truly on when talking to Savage on Friday. The television personality was brimming with confidence that the goods time were coming to the Gunners despite their questionable start to the season. Liverpool inflicted Arsenal’s first, and only as it stands, league defeat of the season when they beat them 3-1 at the end of August and this caused the London club’s form to dip. The Gunners drew both games that followed their loss to the Reds and they only narrowly beat Aston Villa 3-2 last Sunday, so it’s unclear why Morgan is overly gushing about the London club at Liverpool’s expense.  There’s no denying that Aubameyang is a standout player, he has scored six goals in six league outings this season, but to say Arsenal’s overall front three is better than Liverpool’s is way too bold. This is especially the case when you consider that Pepe only just got off the mark in the Premier League in his last outing. Mane, Salah and Firmino have scored 11 goals between them this season across all competitions, as per BBC Sport, and Morgan would clearly love the trio at Arsenal and he knows it.
