Dejan Lovren scored Croatia’s fourth and final goal in their 4-0 win against Slovakia on Friday night and as expected, there are some Liverpool fans on Twitter who have been raving about the centre-back for his performance. Although it was a good night for Lovren, 30, as his nation kept a clean sheet and scored a goal, it is important that Liverpool fans should not get too over-exciting. Lovren is not playing for Liverpool at the moment because he is not better than Joel Matip, Joe Gomez and Virgil van Dijk. He is the fourth-choice centre-back at Anfield and it is going to stay that way for some time unless there are injuries or a serious drop in form by one of those three. One fan says that the ex-Lyon defender is a “hidden” gem that Jurgen Klopp is failing to reveal. Really? Everyone knows about Lovren, he has 152 Premier League appearances to his name.
