OPINION
Peru stunned Brazil by beating them 1-0 in Los Angeles in the early hours of Wednesday morning and it seems as though not many fans on Twitter were impressed by the performance of Liverpool midfielder Fabinho. The 25-year-old came off the bench in the second half just as Roberto Firmino was being taken off to be replaced by Neymar. It was 0-0 at the time of Fabinho’s introduction but the in-form defensive midfielder was at major fault for what turned out to be the winning goal for Peru when he conceded the free-kick that led to Luis Abram scoring in the 84th minute. Fabinho was rightly criticised for this but all Liverpool fans will be concerned about is whether the midfielder can return to Merseyside free of injury after the international break. It seems like that will happen and Jurgen Klopp will have a fully fit squad to choose from this weekend when the Reds welcome Newcastle to Anfield.

Vinicius Jr: 5.5/10
– Didn’t have much of an impact on his first ???????? game. Couldn’t really get into the game. Inexperience showed at times.Fabinho: 5/10
– Not the best cameo, gave the freekick away for the goal. Lost possession a few times too. Looked nervy.— AllThingsSeleção (@SelecaoTalk) September 11, 2019

Fabinho and Firmino seem to have come out unscathed in Brazil's 1 – 0 loss to Peru. Doesn't look like any of our players on international duty got injured which is great. #LFC
