Adebayo Akinfenwa has taken to Instagram to praise Jordan Henderson for his performance in Liverpool’s 2-1 win over Tottenham on Sunday afternoon.
The Reds’ skipper scored the goal that brought his side level against Spurs, who had opened the scoring through Harry Kane after just 47 seconds.
Mo Salah then scored the winner from the penalty spot.
Henderson posted a photo his personal account after the match, to which Wycombe Wanderers striker Akinfenwa replied: “Beast Modeeeeeee”.
OPINION
Akinfenwa has made it very clear in the past that he is a Liverpool fan, and he, like most Kopites, will have been delighted with the manner in which his side won yesterday. Obviously, a more comfortable victory would have been preferable, but the fact that the Reds are winning ugly on occasion would suggest that they are in a very good place when it comes to seriously challenging for a Premier League title. It is, as the cliche goes, a hallmark of champions, and while nobody wants to tempt fate, it’s hard not to be optimistic about this Liverpool side’s prospects. As for Henderson himself, he was superb on Sunday. He may have given away the ball for Kane’s opener, but he more than made up for it with a whole lot of hard work and goal to boot, as well as a match rating of 8.00, as per Whoscored.
