Jason Cundy has claimed that he would love to see Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side “smash” Manchester United on Sunday.

The Reds travel to Old Trafford knowing that a win would extend their perfect start to the Premier League season, and Cundy has made it very clear as to which way he wants the match to go.

Speaking on talkSPORT, he said: “Let’s have it absolutely right – I’m no Liverpool fan, as you well know, but I would to see them smash five past United at the weekend.

“I would absolutely love to see Liverpool rock up at Old Trafford and trample all over them.”

OPINION

These are big words from Cundy, make no mistake, but you won’t find a single Liverpool fan who disagrees with him about this one. At the end of the day, there are few rivalries as historic or bitter in English football as this one, and with Liverpool gunning for a title and their hosts struggling to keep their heads afloat, now would be the perfect time to dish out some humiliation. That being said, things in Premier League football are rarely that simple, but you have to acknowledge that Liverpool have the capacity to take United to pieces. So far this term they have the second highest amount of goals, passes, and crosses, as well as the third highest amount of shots, as per the Premier League. If they’re not careful, United could be in for a hiding.
