Memphis Depay has taken to Instagram to send a message to Liverpool ace Gini Wijnaldum.
The Dutch midfielder posted several photos to his personal account on Wednesday evening of him celebrating with his trademark muscle flex pose, alongside the caption: “Had an amazing start of the season with both Liverpool & the Netherlands.
“A start is just a start, but I’m so excited and will do whatever I can to make sure this is a season to never forget.”
Responding to that post, Depay simply posted a flexing bicep emoji.

Wijnaldum is sometimes a source of real frustration for Liverpool fans. Whereas he often pops up with vital goals and a more attacking demeanour for his national side, he tends to operate in a much less noticeable manner at club level. On the one hand, that is largely due to him being deployed in a deeper role for the Reds than he is for the Oranges, while on the other, it is important to point out that he still does a fine job for Jurgen Klopp’s side. So far this season, his pass completion rate has been 91.8%, with an average of 45.8 passes per game, as per Whoscored. His role for Liverpool is to keep things moving in the centre of the park, like oil in the cogs of a machine, and evidently, he plays his part superbly.
