COMMENTARY
Jordan Henderson may have got many supporters fuming over his display in England’s 6-0 win over Bulgaria on Twitter, but some Liverpool fans were left thrilled by one moment of his performance that has a potentially positive knock-on effect for the club. Henderson picked up a very early yellow card in Monday’s game, and Daily Mail journalist Dominic King clarified on Twitter that the Reds midfielder picking up a booking meant he was now suspended for England’s clash with Montenegro in November. The idea of Henderson not being at risk of getting an injury or having to cope with more playing time against Montenegro, had Liverpool fans celebrate with one even tweeting “Woo hoo” in order to share their joy. The Reds have several important games coming up before and after the clash with Montenegro as they have to face Manchester City as well as Napoli in November and Henderson could have a key role to play. After all the club captain has reguarly featured for Jurgen Klopp’s side this season, he has played in six league matches so far, averaging a rating of 6.61 on WhoScored in the process, and if he is able to get a well deserved rest by being suspended for England, that’s only going to be a positive for the Reds.
