Until Liverpool actually get their hands on the Premier League trophy, there will be questions asked about Jurgen Klopp’s decision to not bring in any senior outfield players over the summer. Obviously, so far this season, there hasn’t been a problem, and the Reds have maintained an unbeaten start to the new campaign with barely any issues. There was a minor wobble against Manchester United on Sunday, however, and you couldn’t help feeling that a large flaw in the Reds’ game plan stemmed from a lack of creativity in central positions. One draw his hardly a disaster, of course, but it was patently clear that another creative playmaker wouldn’t have gone amiss. Couple that with a report from The Athletic stating that the Reds are considering a rival bid to challenge Manchester United for James Maddison, and it was enough to get many Kopites very excited on social media. It’s easy to see why they want the 22-year-old. So far this season, he has averaged 3.3 shots, 1.6 key passes, and 2.9 successful dribbles per game for Leicester City, as well as a Whoscored rating of 7.31 in the Premier League. He is a massively exciting prospect with an abundance of talent, and snapping him up would be a masterstroke.
