Danny Mills selected his Liverpool-Manchester United combined XI ahead of the two Premier League sides clashing on Sunday and ended up picking only members of Jurgen Klopp’s side.

The pundit revealed his XI on Sky Sports News, which the broadcaster tweeted out, and claimed that not only did 0 Man United players make his team but some would struggle to get on his bench.

Mills shared his team on his personal Instagram account and saw a Man United fan messaged him to question why he selected Liverpool’s Alisson as his goalkeeper.

“How can Allison make your team??? U buggin,” wrote the supporter.

The pundit then responded to the fan to imply that if Alisson is fit then Klopp will play him so his choice was justified.

“if he’s fit.. will klopp play him?” stated Mills.

The Man United fan then admitted that Klopp would play the 27-year-old Brazilian if he was fit but insisted the goalkeeper shouldn’t have made the cut due to how little he had played this season.

OPINION

This Man United fan only has an issue with Mills’ team due to Alisson featuring in it, and that probably says a lot about the mood around Old Trafford. The United fan ends up only truly questioning one decision, his previous message asked about Scott McTominay, despite Liverpool dominating Mills’ combined XI to an embarrassing degree, and if a Man United fan only has a bone to pick with one Liverpool player being selected then it shows it’s hard to argue a case for a lot of the members of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad. However, it’s worth noting you can see this Man United fan’s issue. Alisson has only played 39 minutes of Premier League action this season, as per Transfermarkt, after going down injured in the season opener against Norwich City, so you can’t argue that he is being picked on form. Yet that said, would Man United’s David De Gea even make the cut ahead of Adrian if Alisson was made ineligible for Mill’s XI due to not playing? Possibly not. The United keeper has conceded eight goals in eight league games, keeping only two clean sheets, while Adrian has only conceded six goals in the same amount of games as well as kept two clean sheets. So Mills may have ended up picking a Reds keeper ahead of De Gea even if Alisson wasn’t an option.
