Jamie Carragher has admitted that he is “worried” about the confidence that people are showing in Liverpool ahead of their clash against Manchester United on Sunday afternoon.

Jurgen Klopp’s side has won every Premier League match so far this season and could go eight points clear of Manchester City at the top of the table with a win at Old Trafford this weekend.

Carragher has predicted that Liverpool will win against United but has avoided showing too much confidence in his former club.

“Think Liverpool will win but not as easy as people are making out, which is worrying me,” said Carragher via his personal Twitter account on Sunday afternoon.

OPINION

Everything is pointing towards a Liverpool win. Klopp has a fully fit squad with Alisson Becker and Joel Matip available for selection while Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side is down to the bare bones with players like David De Gea and Paul Pogba set to miss out. Anthony Martial is back for Man United, but Solskjaer is going to need more than the France international to pick up any points against in-form Liverpool. Carragher is correct to show caution in his prediction. Everything may be pointing towards a Liverpool victory, but that does not mean that is certain to happen. Anything can happen in matches like this. Not only is it a big game in terms of the Premier League title race, but it is also a huge derby match and one that is seen by a lot of people as the biggest match in the country. Liverpool need big performances by their front-three and their defence if they want to win at Old Trafford while United may just try and play for a draw.
