Football fans love a rumour, and after a summer as barren as their’s Liverpool fans are hungrier than most for gossip at the moment. Even after eight wins from eight matches in the Premier League, there is still an appetite for more quality to be added to the side, and that’s why many supporters have gotten themselves very excited by the latest tweet from German club Borussia Dortmund. In the post, Dortmund dazzler Jadon Sancho is seen alongside Liverpool duo Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez, with the caption: “The future is now” accompanying the images. And many Kopites have taken it as a hint that Sancho could be on his way to Anfield in the near future. That seems unlikely, but what signing he would be, you have to say. So far he has five assists and three goals in six Bundesliga starts averaging 1.9 key passes and 2.7 successful dribbles per game, as per Whoscored. Adding that kind of talent to the Reds’ forward line is a terrifying prospect though, and you can see why supporters are hyping themselves up, even if they know in their heart of hearts that the likelihood of Sancho joining their club is pretty slim.
