OPINION
Divock Origi really failed to impress a section of Liverpool supporters on Twitter for his performance in the 1-1 draw against Manchester United on Sunday. Origi was drafted in to replace the injured Mohamed Salah, but the Belgium international failed to come anywhere near to replicating the Egyptian’s fine displays in a Liverpool shirt. Aside from the VAR controversy surrounding Marcus Rashford’s goal, Origi was pretty anonymous. According to stats by WhoScored, Origi failed to complete any dribbles or key passes to help contribute to the Liverpool attack and it was not a surprise that Jurgen Klopp substituted him off in the second half. Origi’s poor display has shown why Klopp needs to add strength in depth to his side. When someone like Salah is injured, someone better than Origi should be coming in to replace him. Origi was the man in the Champions League last season, but that it starting to look a long time ago based on his most recent outing.
