Fabio Capello gushed about Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp ahead of his showdown with Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola on Sunday.

The former England manager was asked for his opinion on Klopp as well as Guardiola with Man City and Liverpool set to do battle, and he had nothing but kind words for the current Reds boss.

Capello described the job Klopp had done at Liverpool as being something magical and highlighted the unit connection the German has with the fans as well as his team.

“Jurgen Klopp, he made something magic for me,” said Capello on Sky Sports News (7:36am, Thursday, November 11th).

“The atmosphere at Anfield is fantastic, he is like the fans, the fantastic connection between Klopp, team and fans is a unique thing.”

OPINION

Capello is a bit of a blast from the past, for England fans at least, but when a manager of his stature comes out of the woodwork to be in awe of Klopp, it just makes you realise how special it is for Liverpool to have him currently in the hot seat. The German boss is on course to be the first-ever Liverpool manager to win the Premier League title, so it’s no surprise that Capello took the time to give him the praise he deserves. While it’s still early days, Liverpool are currently six points clear of second-placed Manchester City in the league and could move nine points clear with victory on Sunday. While only 12 games would have been played by the time Sunday’s meeting between the two juggernauts ends, it’s hard to imagine a side of the Reds’ quality dropping that sort of advantage. Also with such a talented manager like Klopp holding the reins, it just makes you feel even more confident that it could be Liverpool’s year.
