Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is better than Manchester City counterpart Pep Guardiola, according to talkSPORT pundit Simon Jordan.

The Reds host the defending champions on Sunday knowing that a win would put them nine points clear at the top of the Premier League.

And when asked by Jim White who the better boss was ahead of the clash on talkSPORT, Jordan was in little doubt about his answer.

He said: “I think Klopp is.

“I just think the intensity and irresistibility of Liverpool [makes him better].

“There’s something about their outlook and their style of play that I prefer personally. I find Liverpool irresistible.”

OPINION

Football is a fickle game, and increasingly that means that players and managers must be judged on the quality of their recent output. That’s not to say that reputations and historic achievements are meaningless, but the sport moves at such a pace now that you cannot afford to rest on your laurels. Just ask Jose Mourinho. And that means that if we’re being entirely honest, and looking at things in this exact present moment, then Klopp probably does have the edge. Not only do his side hold the Champions League title, a prize Pep covets above all else, but they are also storming the league, and on a personal level, it’s hard to imagine any of his players not wanting to play under him. He’s infectiously enthusiastic, wonderfully positive, and tactically astute. No slight on Guardiola, who is brilliant in his own right, but right now, this is Jurgen’s time.
