Liverpool are in advanced talks to sign Ryan Fraser from Bournemouth in January, according to talkSPORT.

The broadcaster claimed via their official Twitter account on Monday that the Reds are progressing in discussions over landing the 25-year-old forward, who has scored one goal and supplied two assists in 11 Premier League appearances for the Cherries this season.

Fraser joined Bournemouth in 2013 and has clearly caught the eye of Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp amid an impressive spell of form since the start of last season.

OPINION

Liverpool could really do with adding some strength in depth to their squad in the January transfer window and Fraser is someone who may fit in well at Anfield and play a great back-up role behind Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane. Fraser was really impressive at the Vitality Stadium last season. He scored eight goals and supplied 15 assists in 42 appearances across all competitions for the Cherries, so the Scotland international is certainly someone who knows how to create chances for his team-mates to score. Fraser’s ability to play on both wings also helps but his potential addition in January must raise doubts about Xherdan Shaqiri, who appears to have really struggled in the last 12 months at Anfield with injuries and the fact that he is down Klopp’s pecking order. It also might be worrying news for youngsters like Harvey Elliott, who may not get as much game-time with Fraser in the senior side.
