Liverpool have announced their line-up for the clash against Manchester City at Anfield on Sunday.

The Reds confirmed via their official Twitter account prior to kick-off that Jurgen Klopp has made five changes to the team that lined up in the 2-1 win against Genk in the Champions League on Tuesday.

James Milner, Joe Gomez, Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain have all been dropped with Andrew Robertson, Dejan Lovren, Jordan Henderson, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane returning to the side.

OPINION

It will be very interesting to see how this Liverpool side plays against a Man City side that has been hit by several injury blows in recent weeks. Neither defence is at full strength and a lot of eyes will be on fringe player Lovren in the way that he copes with the away side’s attack. Lovren has only played in three Premier League fixtures so far this season and the Reds have failed to keep a clean sheet in any of those matches, winning 2-1 on each occasion. As long as Liverpool win then it is good but clean sheets have become a bit of a rarity this season and the Merseyside club will no doubt miss the impact of Joel Matip in the back-four. Matip has been superb this season and arguably better in the defence than Virgil van Dijk has been. Lovren has a lot to live up to if he wants to match the displays of the Cameroon international.
