Liverpool are open to letting young forward Rhian Brewster leave the club on loan in January, according to Football Insider

The reputable football outlet claim that the 19-year-old could leave Anfield temporarily, even after being earmarked to lead the line against Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup quarter-final in December.

Football Insider report that Jurgen Klopp has changed his mind on Brewster after blocking a summer exit for the England youth international.

It is suggested that Klopp does not expect Brewster to get much game time outside of the domestic cups and is eager to see him gain more experience.

OPINION

Brewster hasn’t exactly taken the chances given to him in the Carabao Cup so far this season, so it is no surprise to see Klopp have a slight switch in his thoughts. A game against the MK Dons in the second round, on paper, was a perfect opportunity for the 19-year-old to possibly score a couple of goals against a lower-league side, but in fact, he struggled with the physicality of their defence. The next round against Arsenal was obviously a much-harder test, and although he held his own better, he still didn’t find the back of the net and that is what Klopp would have been expecting from his striker, who was given the central role over the more experienced Divock Origi, who was pushed wider. A loan move maybe into the Championship could pay off massively for Brewster, who needs consistent senior football to help him come back next season and make more of an impression in the Premier League.
