After what has been nothing short of a nightmare week for Liverpool fans during the international break, it would have been a pleasant surprise to see Georginio Wijnaldum end the week with a bang. After his Dutch teammate, Virgil van Dijk joined the likes of Jordan Henderson and Joe Gomez in cutting his break short, there weren’t many Reds’ stars left to cast their eyes upon. Wijanldum has made a habit of finding the back of the net for his country this year, and Tuesday was no different as he came away with a hattrick in the 5-0 victory. Jurgen Klopp will have been delighted with the former Newcastle man, who is definitely the answer to the critics questioning where the goals can come from outside of Liverpool’s front three. Many Liverpool fans took to Twitter to react to Wijnaldum’s display, with the majority blown away by the three goals he managed to come away with.
