The EFL Cup has been the perfect opportunity for Jurgen Klopp to bring in some of his academy stars, with the likes of Curtis Jones shining, scoring the winning penalty against Arsenal to send his side into the quarter-finals. Jones, alongside a number of his teammates, are set to be given another chance against Aston Villa in that December clash but before that, they have to continue proving themselves in the under 23s. Jones captained his side to a memorable 7-0 win over Napoli, going five goals to the good in the first half. The Reds’ starlet helped himself to a hat-trick at Melwood, with the third an unstoppable drive into the top corner from outside of the box. Many Liverpool fans were blown away by Jones for his display on Wednesday afternoon, with the majority calling for him to be given a chance in the first team, and another one even claimed he can be the next Steven Gerrard at Anfield if given the opportunity in midfield.
