OPINION
Liverpool’s Under-19s were on fire in their 7-0 win against Napoli in the UEFA Youth League on Wednesday afternoon and one player who caught the eye at Kirkby was – of course – Harvey Elliott. Since joining Liverpool from Fulham in the summer, the 16-year-old has been sensational. He’s already impressed in two senior starts for the Reds as they beat MK Dons and Arsenal in the Carabao Cup and has also been standing out in the Under-23s and other youth sides. Elliott assisted a goal for Curtis Jones in the first half and was hugely influential in what was a near-perfect attacking display by the young Reds. If a similar team to this starts against Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup next month then they have to be favourites to win. There is so much talent in Liverpool’s youth system and we cannot wait to see players like Elliott, Curtis Jones and Ki-Jana Hoever feature more and more in the senior side.
