It kind of feels as if Liverpool fans are due a a big signing.

After all, they failed to sign a senior outfield player last summer, and even though they’re clear at the top of the table ahead of tomorrow’s Premier League clash with Manchester City, the Kop will no doubt still feel that another superstar would send their club into their stratosphere.

And realistically, who wouldn’t want to play for the Reds right now?

European champions, potential Premier League champions, with one of the best and most popular managers in world football, Anfield is the place to be right now.

For those reasons alone, there should be a certain amount of optimism surrounding the latest report from the Daily Mail suggesting that the Reds could be interested in a summer swoop for Borussia Dortmund dazzler Jadon Sancho.

The article claims that the Reds will not move for Kylian Mbappe, but that the 19-year-old England international is firmly on their radar going into the transfer window.

And if Jurgen Klopp’s men were able to pull of a raid for Sancho, it would be an absolute showstopper.

The precocious winger has already hit three goals and five assists in the Bundesliga so far this campaign, as well as averaging 2.9 successful dribbles and 1.8 key passes per game, as per Whoscored.

It’s no exaggeration to suggest that he is one of the most exciting young talents in world football right now, and bringing him to Merseyside would be a stunning statement of intent.
