Redknapp: Liverpool to beat Bournemouth

Harry Redknapp believes that Liverpool will continue their unbeaten start the season with a comfortable win over Bournemouth on Saturday.

The Reds coasted past Everton in midweek to maintain their eight point lead at the summit, and Redknapp foresees more success on the south coast.

Speaking to Bet Victor, he said: “Despite resting a number of regular starters, Liverpool were still able to turn on the style to dispatch rivals Everton 5-2 at Anfield on Wednesday evening and that bodes very well for the league leaders with a challenging set of fixtures ahead of them.

“They remain eight points clear at the summit and face a trip to the South Coast on Saturday to play faltering Bournemouth. The Cherries find themselves just two points above the relegation zone after a terrible run which has seen them lose four games on the bounce and the visitors will fancy their chances of inflicting further pain.

“Manager Jurgen Klopp must be delighted with the squad strength at his disposal and whichever team he does send out at Dean Court, it’s hard to see how a low-on-confidence host outfit can stop them adding three more precious points to their title-chasing account.”

If Liverpool were to drop points here it would be a major upset. Not only are they going into this game riding the crest of a derby winning wave, but they also face a Bournemouth side who are all at sea at the moment. With just one win in their last nine, the Cherries a stuttering under Eddie Howe, and currently sit just two points above the bottom two. They couldn’t find a way through against Crystal Palace in midweek despite having 61% possession and playing against 10 men from the 19th minute onwards, as per the BBC, and it’s hard to see them doing much better against a Red juggernaut that is likely to have the vast majority of the ball. Of course, nothing can be taken for granted too much in the Premier League, but it feels as if this is Liverpool’s match to lose.
