OPINION
Jordan Henderson occupied the deep-lying midfield role in the 2-1 win against Brighton on Saturday with Fabinho out injured for the rest of the year and while it was an unfamiliar position for the club captain, that did not stop a lot of Liverpool fans from blasting him for his performance. When will it end with some Liverpool fans? How come each week, no matter what the score is, players like Henderson are being criticised for absolutely no reason? Did Henderson do a bad job against Brighton? No he didn’t. The Reds would have won 2-0 if it wasn’t for Alisson’s red card and the overall team’s lack of concentration for Lewis Dunk’s free-kick. Henderson didn’t do anything wrong in that win that sees the Reds move 11 points clear at the top of the table. The former Sunderland man could put in a Balon D’Or-worthy display and still have the same fans moaning about him on Twitter every week. Get over it. He’s the man who is going to lift Liverpool’s first-ever Premier League title in May.
