Liverpool are monitoring Fluminese forward Evanilson over a potential future move, according to Netflu.

The Brazilian outlet claim on their website that the 20-year-old South American prospect is nearing the end of his contract, and could move to England for no compensation in the future.

Netflu report that Liverpool have already made contact with Evanilson’s representatives to get an understanding of his situation, with the young Brazilian available to sign a pre-contract with any club right now.

The Fluminese forward has only featured for 18 minutes this season, and his current contract is set to run out at the end of December.

OPINION

Fluminese could kick themselves if they were to lose such a talent, especially with no compensation needed should he complete a move elsewhere past January. The 20-year-old has been given the boost into their first team this season, and although he hasn’t been used as must as he would have wished, he has still attracted interest from the Reds. The Brazilian youth international has played in Europe before so has that experience, but there could yet be turns in the last month of his current deal. Netflu also suggests that Fluminese want to keep hold of the youngster, but surely if they were that keen to see him remain at the club they would have negotiated a deal much earlier than leaving it till the last possible month. Now that Liverpool have contacted Evanilson’s representatives, they will have a much clearer picture of the situation and are now in a position to make their move should they wish too.
