Plenty of Liverpool fans were entertained by online footage of journalist James Pearce being hit on the head with a children’s toy in the middle of a recording for The Anfield Wrap, who shared the clip on Twitter via @TheAnfieldWrap.

The Athletic’s Reds reporter was recording a video for The Anfield Wrap when a Nerf gun bullet struck him on the head mid-sentence, although he calmly carried on with his discussion as if that had never happened. He did, however, pick up the toy bullet with a look of bemusement after The Anfield Wrap presenter Neil Atkinson had begun laughing at the unexpected intervention.

Pearce later alluded to the humorous incident on Twitter (via @JamesPearceLFC) with the caption “Home schooling going well”, a reference to the current closure of all schools in the United Kingdom in an attempt by Prime Minister Boris Johnston to limit the spread of coronavirus throughout the country.

These Liverpool fans on Twitter loved the journalist’s nonchalance at being struck on the head by his child’s Nerf gun bullet, with one Kopite joking that it was a “lovely cushioned header” in reference to commentary from Steven Gerrard’s famous goal against Olympiakos in 2004:
