A number of Liverpool fans have expressed their opposition to the club’s reported interest in Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele, citing the France international’s alarming injury record.

According to Spanish media outlet Sport, the Reds are preparing a transfer offer of €90m (around £80m) for the 22-year-old, of whom Jurgen Klopp reportedly an admirer from his time at Borussia Dortmund. The story was shared on Twitter via @LFCTransferRoom.

Dembele cost Barcelona €105m (£96.83m) plus add-ons when they signed him from the Bundesliga club in 2017 but he has managed only 19 goals in 74 games for the Catalan giants, with a sizeable portion of his Camp Nou career spent in the treatment room. He missed half of 2017/18 with a hamstring injury and suffered a recurrence in November which has sidelined him ever since and is set to keep him out until August at the earliest (as per TransferMarkt).

One disparaging Liverpool fan on Twitter mocked him as “Naby Keita 2.0”, a reference to the injury-prone Guinea midfielder at Anfield who has been plagued with fitness problems over the past 12 months and cost £52.75m from RB Leipzig in 2018 (as per Sky Sports).

These Reds supporters aren’t keen on having Dembele at Anfield due to his multiple long-term injury problems:
