Many Liverpool fans have shown their backing for Mohamed Salah after Robbie Savage claimed that the Egyptian should be dropped or sold by Jurgen Klopp.
Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, the former Wales international said that the Reds should sign Jadon Sancho in the summer and that he should be played in Liverpool’s first choice XI instead of Salah. The Premier League leaders have been linked with a potential £100m summer move for the Borussia Dortmund winger, according to the Daily Mail.
Salah’s equaliser for the Reds in Saturday’s 2-1 win over Bournemouth was his 20th goal of the season, the most of anyone in Klopp’s squad, and took him to 70 in 100 Premier League games for the Merseyside club. It also ensured that he hit the 20-goal mark for the third season in a row, the first Liverpool player to do so since Michael Owen in 2003 (as per Opta). His return of 20 goals in 39 matches in the current campaign (0.51 per game) is marginally better than Sancho’s tally of 17 goals in 34 games (0.5 per game).
The Egyptian had come under fire from some Liverpool fans over his performances against Wolves, Norwich and Atletico Madrid in recent weeks. However, Reds supporter Graeme Kelly on Twitter (@GraemeKelly1) felt that the 27-year-old “doesn’t get the respect he deserves”, with many Kopites agreeing with his pro-Salah stance:
Salah doesn’t get the respect he deserves at all man. Might be one of them players eveyone appreciates when he’s finished. https://t.co/zRmxPeSNFl

it’s because he can look frustrating but the lad is sheer numbers

I think it’s because most of this season he can look quite frustrating to watch but his numbers are still immense thought against Bournemouth was his best performance in a while he looked great

No winger takes salah or mane out of our team

Mo is easily the most underrated player in world football by the media.
The man has the 2nd best goalscoring record in 100 appearances for a single club in premier league history.— Elliot (@CommodoreMudkip) March 9, 2020
What Salah does is unbelievable. Hes still up with Mane in goals and assists, Probably creates more chances and allows TAA the freedom to do what he does. Take Salah out of the team for a prolonged period and we’d be in trouble IMO

Numbers for Mo are ridiculous, bringing in players should be to improve the bench or rotation options. There isn’t really an upgrade on Salah & Mane currently.
