A number of Liverpool fans have been purring over Harvey Elliott’s impressive take on the toilet roll challenge, with footage of the teenager’s attempt posted on Twitter by Reds supporter @SamuelLFC.

With the Premier League season on hold due to the coronavirus crisis, a number of professional footballers have been passing the time by performing the toilet roll challenge, whereby they try to execute as many successive kick-ups with the bathroom product as possible and then post the video to social media. As noted by BBC, Benjamin Mendy, Bruno Fernandes and Cesc Fabregas are among those who have also attempted the challenge.

The use of toilet roll for the task may seem apt given that, as noted by The Independent, the product has been purchased in its droves worldwide in a spate of consumer panic-buying in response to the outbreak of COVID-19.

Elliott, who joined Liverpool from Fulham last year and has already made seven first team appearances for the Reds despite still being only 16, wowed these Liverpool fans on Twitter with his toilet roll challenge. Some Kopites were even moved to draw tongue-in-cheek comparisons with Ballon D’Or winners such as Lionel Messi and Ronaldinho.

Liverpool fans, were you impressed by Elliott’s toilet roll challenge? Do you think he could have a bright future at Anfield? Comment below with your views!
