A number of Liverpool fans have lauded Jurgen Klopp, players from the men’s and women’s teams and other club staff after they recorded a public message of gratitude for healthcare workers’ tireless efforts during the current coronavirus pandemic, with their words shared by the club’s official Twitter account @LFC.
The four-minute video features several members of Klopp’s first team squad, including Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk, Alisson, Jordan Henderson, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino, expressing their thanks to healthcare staff for their work in treating patients amid the global COVID-19 crisis.
To all the health care workers around the world.

Last night, millions of people across the UK and Ireland partook in communal applause in a show of solidarity with healthcare workers in the fight against coronavirus, which has directly affected more than 11,500 people in the UK and been responsible for 584 deaths in the country (as per Sky News). On a less important note, COVID-19 has also led to the cessation of football in Britain, with the Premier League not due to resume until 30 April at the earliest.
These Liverpool fans on Twitter gave credit to the club’s staff for their message of support to healthcare workers during this extremely challenging period:
Just shed a tear and I’m a grizzled 50 year old. Our club continues to strike exactly the right note ????
