A number of Liverpool fans have reacted to a tweet from Crystal Palace supporter @AyewMabeliever to insist that they would be more than satisfied with the season if they end it as Premier League champions.

The Eagles fan questioned how Kopites could be discontent with winning “only” the league title following their exit from the Champions League last night, after which a number of Liverpool supporters fumed at Adrian over an error from the goalkeeper which led to Atletico Madrid’s first goal in their 2-3 defeat.

The Reds’ European elimination comes just over a week after they also exited the FA Cup after losing to Chelsea and they have now lost four of their last six matches in all competitions, having been beaten only twice all season prior to mid-February. However, Jurgen Klopp’s team are still 25 points clear at the top of the Premier League and could be champions as soon as Monday night. Two more wins would also ensure the title, with the Reds on course to end their 30-year wait for a 19th league crown against Crystal Palace on 21 March.

Despite seeing a potential two trophies slip away from them since the beginning of March, these Liverpool fans insisted that they would be delighted to lift the Premier League crown come the season’s end and were determined to set the record straight in response to the tweet from @AyewMabeliever:

Liverpool fans, do you think winning the Premier League would automatically make the season a success or do the cup exits put a dampener on the campaign as a whole? Have your say by commenting below!
