A number of Liverpool fans identified Ryan Fraser as someone they would like to have at the club after @AnfieldWatch posted a list of players who are set to become free agents in the summer and asked followers if they would have any of those at Anfield.

The Scottish winger’s current contract at Bournemouth expires at the end of June and, earlier this season, talkSPORT reported that Liverpool were in “advanced talks” with the 26-year-old about a potential switch in the January transfer window. However, the Liverpool Echo claimed that the Reds had not been planning a mid-season move for him.

Fraser has not been especially productive for the Cherries this season, with just one goal and four assists in 28 league games for Eddie Howe’s side, but he was outstanding in 2018/19 with seven goals and 14 assists, the latter figure the division’s second-highest tally behind Eden Hazard. He had a day to remember for Bournemouth when they defeated Liverpool 4-3 in December 2016, scoring one goal and setting up two that afternoon.

These Reds fans on Twitter, responding to the tweet from @AnfieldWatch, think that the Scot would be an astute free signing, with one Kopite hailing the 5 ft 5 in (1.63m) winger as a “tidy little player”:
