Many Liverpool fans are hopeful that Besiktas will complete a permanent deal for Loris Karius after the on-loan goalkeeper said that he wants to remain at the club.

Turkish media outlet A Spor reported that the 26-year-old indicated a willigness to take a pay cut at the Istanbul club in order to try and seal a permanent move in preference of returning to parent club Liverpool. That news was subsequently shared on Twitter by @AnfieldWatch.

Karius was loaned out to Besiktas in 2018 on a two-year deal following a disastrous summer for the Reds in which he committed two costly errors in the Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid and was also culpable of blunders in pre-season games against Tranmere and Borussia Dortmund. He has had some difficult moments on loan, too, including a horrendous misjudgment in a Europa League defeat to Slovan Bratislava, and told Turkish newspaper Fotospor that the floodlight system used in the Super Lig shone directly into his eyes, thus affecting his concentration and leading to some shaky performances.

These Liverpool fans on Twitter pleaded with Besiktas to sign him permanently and take him off the Anfield club’s hands once and for all:
