Plenty of Liverpool fans would like to see the Premier League potentially being finalised in one manner that is reportedly being considered by their French counterparts.

As per ESPN, the Ligue 1 season abruptly ended yesterday after French Prime Minister Edouard Philippe announced that no sporting events would be held in the country until at least September due to the coronavirus pandemic. RMC Sport had reported [via ESPN] that one of the options being considered by the Ligue 1 authorities is to declare the table at the halfway point as the final table.

Consequently, The Athletic tweeted (via @TheAthleticUK) how the final 2019/20 Premier League table would look if they adopted the ‘halfway’ model in the event of the season being unable to resume. Under such circumstances, Liverpool would not only maintain their place at the top of the table and be crowned champions; they would also have an unbeaten record as their only league defeat this season, the 3-0 loss at Watford, came after the 19-game halfway mark.

Although such a move seems unlikely to materialise given that the Premier League and UK government are keen to resume the season, these Liverpool fans on Twitter approved of the idea to declare the midway table as final if necessary:

Liverpool fans, would you be in favour of the halfway point table being declared final if the 2019/20 Premier League season cannot resume? Share your views in the comments section below!
