Plenty of Liverpool fans are begging the club to sign transfer target Timo Werner following a recent admission from the RB Leipzig striker.

The 24-year-old, who has also been linked with Bayern Munich, told German media outlet Sport Bild that he would like his next career move to take him outside his native country, saying: “It’s just that the challenge in another league would appeal to me a little more than a change within the Bundesliga.”

The latest report on Werner comes a couple of days after Sport Bild journalist Christian Falk tweeted (via @cfbayern) that the Germany striker ruled out the chances of moving to Bayern Munich and hinted at a preference to team up with compatriot Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool.

Recently, both Sky Sports and the Evening Standard reported that the RB Leipzig striker has a desire to play for the Reds. Sky Sports added that Werner could make the move to Anfield if the Premier League club were to meet his £52m expiry clause before it expires on 15 June. The 24-year-old has struck 27 goals in 36 games for RB Leipzig this season, helping them to reach the Champions League quarter-finals and challenge for the Bundesliga title.

Following his admission to Sport Bild, these Liverpool fans on Twitter have been pleading for the Anfield club to strike a deal for him in the coming weeks:
