Plenty of Liverpool fans have urged the club to sign transfer target Timo Werner as the Bundesliga returned to action this afternoon and gamblers flocked to online-betting.org for the latest odds.
The 24-year-old, who has been heavily linked with a summer move to Anfield and hinted at a desire to move to the Reds (as per The Athletic), was in action for current club RB Leipzig as they took on Freiburg behind closed doors in their first fixture in just over two months.
Werner had scored 27 goals already this season but was unable to add to his tally today, with Julian Nagelsmann’s side needing to come from behind to draw 1-1 in a result that harms their title aspirations.
Nonetheless, the Germany striker was one of his team’s standout performers at a deserted Red Bull Arena. He managed to get both of his shots on target and executed five key passes, the most of anyone on the pitch and as many as Freiburg had in total. He also completed two successful dribbles on the day. These Liverpool fans saw enough to convince them that Werner is worth signing, with one supporter declaring him “similar to Mo Salah”:
Our front 3 get’s in a 1 v 1 situation literally every game, Werner is a much better finisher than Firmino hands down. Liverpool front 3 needs some reinvention, I’d love to try out Firmino behind Werner and take work load off wingers. He would get 20 goals easy in England.

It is just so clear how well Werner will fit into our team. Always wanting the ball & constantly moving
Also, unlike our front three, he has the body shape of a striker & do we need a more clinical scorer.
It is just so sensible to get him in.#Werner #DieRotenBullen #LFC

Werner is similar to Mo Salah. Constant threat, creates chances and openings with runs… think he’s more clinical though! #LFC do it.

Timo Werner please and thanks, @LFC

Really hope we figure out a way to pull off the Werner deal. His movement, link-up play, and ability to slot in anywhere across the front three really is superb.

The more games I watch of Werner the more desperate I become for us to sign him

Bring Werner to Anfield. That speed would be more appreciated with Liverpool.
