A number of Liverpool fans have praised club captain Jordan Henderson for a gesture he made towards a Reds-supporting season ticket holder.
The 29-year-old shared a video on his Twitter profile @JHenderson which was uploaded by Liverpool’s official account @LFC (in conjunction with Nivea Men UK) and shows a surprise phone call that he made to Reds fan David Kerruish, who has suffered the death of both of his parents in recent months.
It was a tough end to 2019 for lifelong red, David Kerruish, so with the help of his sister I gave him a little surprise. ?? YNWA https://t.co/BX45m4bSby

As outlined in the video posted by @LFC, his mother was diagonsed with terminal cancer and died a month later. The following month, on the day of the Reds’ 3-1 win over Manchester City at Anfield, his father died after breaking his neck in a fall.
David’s wife Angela and sister Christiane arranged for Henderson to surprise him with a phone call, in lieu of being unable to visit him personally due to the UK’s lockdown. The 29-year-old also told David that he and his family have been invited to Melwood to meet with the Liverpool players, as well as being given two free season tickets for 2020/21.
These Liverpool fans on Twitter hailed Henderson for his interaction with, and surprises for, David – one Kopite hailed the Reds captain as a “hero” following his kind gesture:
