Plenty of Liverpool fans were whipped into a frenzy following comments made by Trent Alexander-Arnold on Instagram.

As noted by the Liverpool Echo, the 21-year-old was partaking in a live Q&A on the social platform with actor and rapper Michael Dapaah when he was asked whether he would like to have Jadon Sancho at the club, following transfer links between him and the Merseysiders.

Alexander-Arnold replied: “Sancho is sick so if he came to us he would make our team better. So, I’d be more than happy for him to come because I have played with him at England. He’s a special, special, special, special talent.” Immediately before that question, the Reds right-back cited Eden Hazard as the most difficult winger who he has faced, which prompted an eyes emoji response from Sancho in the comments. Earlier this year, the Daily Mail reported that the Borussia Dortmund winger was a transfer target for Liverpool, although David Maddock of The Mirror later reported that the Reds were not in contention for his signature. The 20-year-old has struck 17 goals in 35 matches this season along with providing 19 assists, marking him out as a very potent goal threat from the flanks.

These Liverpool fans on Twitter reacted excitedly to Alexander-Arnold’s comments and believe that “Agent Trent” is doing his bit in trying to lure Sancho to Anfield:
