Reported Liverpool target Raphinha has insisted he is ‘really happy’ at Leeds United despite speculation linking him with a move away from Elland Road.

Having made a scintillating start to life in the Premier League since completing a £17m switch from French Ligue 1 side Rennes, the 24-year-old has been attracting interest with the Reds, Manchester United and Barcelona all believed to be in the mix.

In an interview with Sky Sports, the Brazilian spoke of his happiness in Yorkshire and paid tribute to the bond he has with his new club.

He said: ”The club, all the people who work here, the staff and the players have really helped me develop. I’m really grateful for this and always look to do my best for them all. This creates a bond with everybody here. I’m really happy here and feel I’ve adapted well. Everything’s in place for us to achieve good results working together.”

It comes as little surprise Liverpool have been touted as potential suitors for Raphinha, who was dubbed ‘spontaneous’ by manager Marcelo Bielsa, with Jurgen Klopp‘s side profligate in front of goal in recent months, the German is expected to recruit in the summer.

This is certainly a major dent in any hopes Liverpool might’ve had of landing the £16.2m valued winger.

With a large contingent of Brazilian’s already in the Anfield squad, Raphinha would have no trouble adapting to life on Merseyside and would no doubt find himself extremely happy with life as a Red also.

Unfortunately in the meantime prizing away the mercurial star may prove a difficult task – but there is no doubt Klopp needs exactly a player of his ilk as his own forwards suffer a dramatic decline in productivity.
