Real Betis club president Angel Haro has admitted to Spanish outlet El Desmarque, reported Liverpool target Aissa Mandi could leave the club when his contract expires at the end of this season.

Linked with the Reds and AC Milan in recent times, the 29-year-old has a big decision to make over his future.

The La Liga sides president confirmed nothing has been decided regarding where the experienced 59-cap Algerian will be plying his trade:

”I have a fluid dialogue with Aissa. I have a lot of respect for him as a professional. He is a good player, as well as captain of the team, I am convinced that he has not agreed anything with any team. He is free to do so but it is a vital decision for him to know if he is going to continue (with us).”

Haro also admitted he wants his captain to make a decision sooner rather than later: ”The time (to make a decision) is coming up, before the end of the month.”

Mandi has been of long-term interest to Liverpool and with a further report claiming the centre-back would demand £30,000-a-week at his next club – Jurgen Klopp could be set to land piece of his jigsaw for next season.

This year the Betis ace has continued to play a major role for the Seville based side, playing 20 times in the league with an average Sofascore rating of 6.90.

L4L’s VIEW

Albeit perhaps not the marquee deal many might’ve hoped to see incoming this summer, signing Mandi would make plenty of sense from almost every perspective.

Available on a free and with mooted affordable wage demands, bringing the Algerian in would solve a defensive problem whilst allowing funds to be distributed in other areas.
