Borussia Dortmund have reportedly placed a £130m price tag on superstar striker Erling Haaland amid interest from several European giants in a summer swoop.

Liverpool are one of many elite clubs believed to be keen on the 20-year-old, who has a release clause in his contract that becomes active in 2022.

Despite that clause, there is speculation at least one club will attempt to land the 31-goal ace at the end of this season, hence the Bundesliga’s call to action in placing a lofty asking price on the Norwegian.

Haaland has been billed by many as a generational talent set to dominate world football alongside French star, and another linked with the Reds, Kylian Mbappe.

This season the powerful frontman has managed a staggering 31 goals in all competitions, including 19 league strikes.

It remains to be seen whether Liverpool hold a genuine interest in Haaland, although almost every top club in world football will.

Whoever signs the Norwegian will be guaranteed incredible goal return for many years to come and with it at least a tilt at top honours.

One thing is for sure, at the mooted £130m, some of the clubs linked, namely Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain, will likely still consider it a worthwhile venture.

The Reds meanwhile, could be one of those sides who take a watching brief and hope the sensation stays at Dortmund until that release clause comes into play.
