Liverpool have been linked with a shock move for Atletico Madrid striker Luis Suarez

According to Fichajes.net (via Sport Witness), Jurgen Klopp is on the lookout for an experienced goalscorer this summer to supplement Sadio Mane, Diogo Jota, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino.

The report claims that the Reds ‘want’ the Uruguayan forward who represented the Anfield club on 133 occasions, scoring 83 goals and making 47 assists.

Having signed for Barca in 2014 for £73.55m (Transfermarkt), Suarez has since left Catalunia for Atletico Madrid where he has been a sensation.

Despite being 34 years old now, the 116-cap superstar has scored 19 La Liga goals this season in 25 outings.

Suarez was on another level during his spell on Merseyside and will forever live long in the memory of Kopites.

Romantic notion aside, albeit Suarez continues to score goals this term, the Uruguay ace will turn 35 in the middle of next season and this is a deal that would fly in the face of Klopp’s previous signings.

There is no doubt Klopp will be in the market for a frontman, however, but the targets are likely to be at the polar opposite end of their career.
