Liverpool transfer target and Borussia Dortmund teenage sensation Jude Bellingham will depart the Bundesliga club for a “crazy, really huge price tag” next summer.

What’s the word?

That is according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, who made the claim on the young star, who captained his team in their Champions League clash against Sevilla on Wednesday at the age of 19 years and 98 days, via social media.

Taking to Twitter, Romano said of Bellingham: “Captain tonight with 19 years and 98 days old (!), Jude Bellingham has just scored a great goal and also provided an assist. Get ready for a crazy, really huge price tag next summer.

A big fee

Given the experience that Bellingham has acquired (163 senior appearances between club and country), and the scale of his development at such a young age, the teenager was always bound to be a hugely sought-after prospect.

However, top-class performances in the Champions League – which have become a consistent theme with Bellingham – will only drive up his price tag. Last night’s performance was yet again one of those potential price-driving feats, with the England international registering a goal and an assist in Dortmund’s 4-1 win over Sevilla.

It now takes Bellingham’s total to three goals and one assist from just three Champions League games this season, with the well-documented Liverpool target now demonstrating his ability on a consistent basis on the biggest stage in European club football.

To make things even better, Bellingham put in this man-of-the-match performance operating in a 4-3-3 formation and shone as a right-sided central midfielder, something which is sure to have resonated with Jurgen Klopp and co for potential future use.

The sky is the limit for Bellingham, as he once again demonstrated last night with a sparkling display which only added to his value.

Alas, it was a performance which underlined the fact that Liverpool will need to cough up the big bucks next summer if they are to acquire this highly-rated prospect.
