Liverpool have been linked with a move for Napoli superstar Victor Osimhen recently, and a new update further suggests that he could be a future Reds player.

The Nigerian enjoyed a sensational season for Napoli last time around, proving to be one of Europe’s deadliest strikers and inspiring his side to a legendary Serie A success.

It was their first league title since way back in 1990 and Osimhen’s performances were a huge reason for it, as he scored 26 goals in 32 appearances in the competition.

The 24-year-old is someone who most clubs in the world would love to have leading their attack, and recent claims have suggested that Liverpool are keen on signing him.

Now, according to a report from Calciomercato [via Sport Witness], the Reds actually have an agreement in place with Osimhen over a move to Anfield, but it remains to be seen whether he wants to go through with it.

It is claimed that his stance on his future at Napoli has changed since the summer, at which point he was willing to stay put, giving Liverpool hope that a high-profile transfer could come to fruition.

Our thoughts on Liverpool potentially signing Osimhen…

The idea of Osimhen strutting his stuff in a Reds shirt is clearly a mouthwatering prospect, considering the quality of his displays last season, combining pace, power and ruthless finishing.

That being said, it has to be questioned if Liverpool need the Nigeria international currently, at a time when Jurgen Klopp has such a wealth of elite attacking options to choose from.

Darwin Nunez continues to grow for the Reds, adjusting more and more to the Premier League and acting as a great weapon, while Cody Gakpo brings different attributes but is also influential at the centre of the attack.

Then there’s Diogo Jota, who is arguably the best finisher at Liverpool currently, with Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz also providing brilliance in wide areas.

It is hard to see how Klopp would be able to keep all of those players happy, as well as Osimhen, so for now, it would be a big surprise if he ended up at the Reds.
