Jurgen Klopp has suggested that winning does mean more at Liverpool compared to at other clubs, which may not go down well with rival supporters.

The German is coming to the end of his time as Reds boss, with only two matches remaining before he is replaced by Arne Slot this summer.

Klopp has never been one to mince his words, and speaking to Liverpool’s official website, he said that there is something extra-special about winning with the Reds:

“I really think there’s a Liverpool way. When you win one time with Liverpool, it is worth as much as five with another club.

“To experience a good moment is really good. To experience a good moment with a lot of people together is a completely different level, and the same is with the bad moments. So that is really special.

“If you played a minute for this club, people all over the world will never forget you. And you will find them 7,000 miles away. Really, the club is so big and you only realise it when you go in different countries and continents.”

Our thoughts on Klopp’s latest comments…

This is music to the ears of Liverpool fans, who will love Klopp’s words about the club, especially because he means everything he is saying.

He has clicked with the Reds and the city as a whole ever since arriving in October 2015, coming to realise just how great success feels at Anfield.

It comes after Trent Alexander-Arnold came out with a similar opinion earlier in the year when comparing the Reds and Manchester City, saying:

“Looking back on this era, although they’ve won more titles than us and have probably been more successful, our trophies will mean more to us and our fanbase because of the situations at both clubs, financially.

“How both clubs have built their teams and the manner in which we’ve done it, probably means more to our fans.”

It is obvious that rival supporters are going to dislike both sets of comments, but from a biased Liverpool perspective, it does feel like there is something particularly magical about the club.

Fans of other sides are more than welcome to think the same about their respective clubs, however, and Klopp won’t have been trying to get rise with his opinion.
