A “world-class” Liverpool player will leave the club at the end of this season, according to former Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor.

There are concerns over the respective futures of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah at Anfield, with the trio all out of contract in 2025.

It remains to be seen if all three will sign new deals in the coming months, but there is understandable worry that at least one of them won’t be around this time next year.

Speaking on talkSPORT [via Football Insider], Agbonlahor claimed that he has been informed that Salah will be departing Liverpool for Saudi Arabia next summer, in a huge update:

“I know Salah’s going. I’ve got a source that told me Salah’s definitely going. Saudi, on a record contract.

“I’m hearing that he will earn more than [Cristiano] Ronaldo, he’ll be the face of the football over there. You can’t turn that down if you’re Mo Salah. He’s done everything at Liverpool hasn’t he?”

Our thoughts on the latest Salah exit rumour…

This is a potentially major blow for Liverpool, considering Salah has become one of the greatest players in the club’s history since arriving from Roma in the summer of 2017.

The 32-year-old has now scored a remarkable 215 goals in 356 appearances for the Reds, putting him fifth on the all-time list, behind Ian Rush (346), Roger Hunt (285), Gordon Hodgson (241) and Billy Liddell (228).

While Salah isn’t getting any younger, he keeps himself in incredible condition and has shown this season that he remains a force, while Jurgen Klopp has rightly described him as “world-class” in the past.

There is no reason why the Egyptian superstar can’t remain in and around his peak level for another two or three years, so it makes complete sense for Liverpool to offer him an extension.

It could be that Salah’s mind is made up already, however, deciding that he wants a fresh challenge at this point in his career, but a move to the Saudi Pro League would be a real waste.

Sadio Mane’s career has waned since he moved there, which should act as a warning to Liverpool’s legendary No.11.
