Mohamed Salah was the star of the show in Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Bologna, with his incredible numbers all but matching Thierry Henry’s in an Arsenal shirt.
The Reds eased to victory in the Champions League on Wednesday evening, even if their performance wasn’t the most memorable of the season to date.
It was a game that needed elite-level quality to shine through and light up the Anfield crowd, and as has been the case so many times over the years, it was Salah who proved to be that man.
The 32-year-old clipped an inch-perfect cross into the path of Alexis Mac Allister, who fired home to give Liverpool the lead, outlining the creative brilliance he possesses.
With the game still in the balance in the second half, Salah then curled a wonderful strike into the top corner to seal the victory for the hosts, in what was a trademark effort.
The Egyptian superstar has now scored 216 goals and registered 93 assists in a Liverpool shirt, coming from a total 357 appearances, which is remarkably similar to what Henry achieved during his legendary stint at Arsenal.
The French icon netted 228 times in 377 outings for the Gunners, on top of 98 assists, showing that Salah could beat his record if he scores 13 goals and chips in with six assists in his next 20 appearances.

At this point, Salah has to be considered one of the greatest players to have not only played for Liverpool but also performed in the Premier League, producing freakish numbers at such a relentless rate over seven years.
Tying him down to a new deal is so important, considering there are few wide attacking players in the world capable of being such a force, and he doesn’t look like he is slowing down at all.
To see Salah leave next summer while still at the peak of his powers would be a massive blow for Liverpool, and the comparison with Henry sums up his standing in the game.
