Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing an “absolutely top” player in 2025, with the individual in question potentially available on the cheap.
Reds supporters will be desperate to see more signings come in soon, whether that be in January or next summer, and it looks as though they are keen on snapping up a huge talent.
According to a fresh claim from Football Insider, Liverpool are interested in acquiring the signature of Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze, with clubs possibly not having to pay his full £68m release clause in 2025.
Instead, the Englishman could be available for between £50-60m, and while the Eagles would rather keep hold of arguably their best player, they could be tempted to cash in and receive a hefty sum of money.
Newcastle United and Tottenham are also in the mix to sign Eze, whose current Palace deal expires in the summer of 2027.
Our thoughts on Liverpool signing Eze…
Eze is a fantastic talent who could be coming right into his prime, so the idea of him in a Liverpool shirt should be a mouthwatering one for supporters.
Another attacking player isn’t necessarily at the top of Arne Slot’s transfer wishlist, but having the chance to sign him for a cut-price fee should be a no-brainer, with Palace manager Oliver Glasner waxing lyrical over him, saying:
“Who’s a better player than Eze? For me he’s absolutely top, if he was luckier this season he would have five or six goals. He’s always dangerous because he has the quality and ability at 1-1, he’s such an unbelievable finisher, in some situations he can improve, he’s a guy who can always score and he’s someone who everyone likes.”
Eze could look at the likes of Michael Olise and Joachim Andersen moving on and feel that next summer is the right time to enjoy a fresh challenge, feeling that his prime years should spent at one of the biggest clubs in the country.
It would be fascinating to see what Slot could do with him, potentially taking his game up another gear and turning him into one of the best players in the Premier League.
