Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing a player who has recently been described as “world-class”, not to mention scoring against the Reds earlier this season.

Arne Slot’s attacking options are the envy of arguably any team in Europe currently, with Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez shining in recent weeks.

Cody Gakpo has also been in impressive form throughout this season, while the return of Diogo Jota from injury cannot come soon enough, with the Portuguese expected to be back in the fold soon.

Despite this, it looks as though Liverpool are eyeing another attacking ace, with Calciomercato [via Sport Witness], reporting that they are keen on signing AC Milan winger Christian Pulisic.

Liverpool are believed to like the £50m-rated player “a lot”, but Milan are hugely reluctant to sell one of their most influential players this season.

Our thoughts on Liverpool signing Pulisic…

To some, Pulisic hasn’t delivered on his early-career promise, considering some thought he could be a genuine superstar of the game, but he remains a top-level player in great form currently.

The 26-year-old scored against Milan in the Champions League back in September, opening the scoring before the Reds won 3-1 at the San Siro, while Alexi Lalas has heaped praise on him, saying:

“What is world class? Well, you’ve got your definition, I have my definition. But if you want to know what world class is, it’s Christian Pulisic. In this moment right now, he’s got either a goal or an assist in his last five games. I think he’s playing his best soccer of his career.

“And I’m telling you right now, Christian Pulisic at this moment is one of the top 25 players in the world. He just happens to be American.”

Pulisic has already scored five goals in 10 Serie A starts this season, as well as netting twice in the Champions League, and at 26, his best years could still be ahead of him.

Whether Liverpool need the USA international is up for debate, however, considering the aforementioned attacking depth at Slot’s disposal, and they could be wise to search for a No.6 in midfield or a backup centre-back instead.
