Liverpool are reportedly looking to beat Celtic to the signing of highly-rated Motherwell youngster Lennon Miller, in what could be a hugely exciting capture.

The Reds should always be on the lookout for new long-term additions, rather than simply signing players for the present.

There is already an exciting nucleus of young talent on show at Liverpool, from Jarell Quansah to Ben Doak, and it looks as though the club are trying to get another eye-catching piece of business over the line.

According to a report from Football Insider, the Reds are interested in Motherwell midfielder Miller, looking to “blow Celtic out of the water” and beat them to his signing.

The teenage starlet isn’t out of contract until the summer of 2026, but his side will be wary of losing him on the cheap if they allow him to get too close to it running down.

Our thoughts on Liverpool signing Miller…

Miller may not be the world-renowned superstar that many Liverpool fans will be craving, but he is a player with a huge future in the game.

The 18-year-old has already become a key player for his current side, showing great maturity and making 55 appearances in total, while manager Stuart Kettlewell has said of him:

“Lennon needs to relax a bit! I think I had more beads of sweat on my brow than he did on his, but I just think it’s pretty special when you’re looking at an 18-year-old who shows that level of composure, that belief and trust in himself, that he can convert a penalty kick the way he did. I go back to the bigger picture and speak about his performance in general, which I think leads to that, but nothing really surprises me with him.”

Signing the top British emerging talent should always be a priority for Liverpool, ensuring that the club continues to grow into the future, with homegrown players coming to the fore, as has been the case throughout history.

Miller could find it too hard to turn the Reds down, given their status as one of Europe’s greatest clubs, and it will be interesting to see how things develop in the coming months.
